How to generate a survey with AI

   Write what you want to learn and why, e.g. “find out why trial users don’t upgrade”. A specific goal gives better questions than a topic.

   Pick who will answer, the language, 5–15 questions and the question types you want.

   Edit wording, remove questions you don’t need, reorder them and adjust answer options. AI drafts are a starting point, not a final survey.

What makes a good AI-generated survey

The generator is instructed to follow standard questionnaire-design rules: one idea per question, neutral wording, balanced scales and easy questions first. It also refuses to ask for personal or sensitive information such as IDs, financial details or health data.

The more specific your goal, the better the result. “Measure satisfaction” produces generic questions; “Find out which part of our checkout causes people to abandon their cart” produces questions you can act on.

Always review before you send

AI can misjudge your audience’s vocabulary, miss an answer option that matters, or ask something you can’t act on. Read each question as a respondent would, and ask yourself what you will do differently depending on the answer. If the answer wouldn’t change anything, remove the question.

Privacy and limits

Don’t include names, emails or other personal details in your goal. Drafts you don’t save are deleted after 30 days. The free generator is limited to five surveys an hour per visitor; signed-in workspaces use AI drafting inside the builder.
